QUIRKY WORLD ... On the buses: Passengers get set for a poo-powered ride

Wessex Bus is hoping to run a 20-strong fleet in Bristol while rival operator First West of England is looking to bring 110 poo-powered double deckers to the city.
The announcements come after the UK’s first bio-bus, powered by methane gas extracted from human waste, began services last year on the appropriately named No 2 route.

Smart meters will replace analogue gas and electricity meters in every UK household by 2020.
Californian authorities are looking for a wedding thief who steals wallets, credit cards and other valuables on the couple’s happiest day without so much as an “I do”.
An arrest warrant has been issued for 50-year-old Denise Louise Burns — also known as Denise Gunderson, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.
Burns pretends to be a wedding guest, makes her way to the bridal suite and helps herself to wallets, cash and credit cards during the ceremony, investigators say. Burns immediately heads to shops to use the stolen cards, detective Lisa Jenkins said. Burns has pulled off heists during half a dozen weddings in San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
A Pennsylvania teenager accidentally ran all 26.2 miles of the Philadelphia Marathon because he missed a turn on his half-marathon course, his family said.
Evan Megoulas runs on his high school’s cross country team in Palmyra, 110km west of Philadelphia, WPVI-TV said. He set out on Sunday to run the 13.1-mile half-marathon. His family was waiting for him at the finish line but became concerned when he did not show. They gave police a photo of Evan, and officers tracked him down in the Manayunk section of the city. He felt good despite missing his turn and wanted to keep running. Evan’s brother said that after he completed the marathon, officers wanted a picture with him.
Days before Thanksgiving, a wild turkey chose an opportune time to show up on the doorstep of an Orlando church, appearing to seek shelter.
The large fowl spent the day pacing outside St Luke’s United Methodist Church, gazing into its dark glass doors. Church spokeswoman Dawn Fleming said it seemed the bird, now known as the St Luke’s Turkey, really wanted to get in. Ms Fleming said a staff Facebook post about the turkey reached 30,000 people. Some online posters speculated the turkey was at the church seeking pardon and protection from the Thanksgiving table. The turkey went on its way after staff were unable to find an animal rescue organisation to pick it up.
