Police search for three missing brothers ongoing

Remus, Janko and David Matloch, aged 15, 12 and 10, failed to return to their foster carers’ home in Sunderland after heading out on a bike ride to a local park.

Instead, the boys took a Metro train to Newcastle and were last seen on CCTV walking out of the Central station. They were thought to only have ÂŁ60 on them at the time.

Northumbria Police, who say they are increasingly worried for the brothers, said they were now focusing their search in the North East, Birmingham and London.

The alarm was raised by their foster parents at around 9pm on Monday, an hour after they were supposed to return to their home in The Oakes, Sunderland, where they have lived happily for 18 months.

The boys had left their bikes and helmets before getting on the train.

Superintendent Alan Veitch said: “We have had a good response from the public to our appeals for information.

“We have had more than 20 calls from people who have rung in with information which we are still following up.

“We do want to stress that the boys are not in any trouble, we just want to know they are safe and well. We need to know where they are so we can go and collect them and bring them back.”
