VIDEO: Ten-year-old girl saves father’s life after plea for help on Facebook
Ten-year-old Brianna Vance posted the clip on Facebook during a storm in West Virginia.
A large tree trunk had fallen on her father while he was outside his house.
Due to the storm, Brianna was unable to get any phone signal to call for help.
She could, however, access the internet so the quick-thinking girl recorded a video message and uploaded it to social media.
In her cry for help, a visibly shaken Brianna said: “The lightning crashed and hit a tree by our porch and my dad’s almost dead.
“He needs an ambulance please. Please call one for us if you have a signal. We live in a yellow house, a trailer. Please. We need an ambulance. Please. Please.”
The emergency services were alerted and her father was rushed to hospital shortly afterwards. He is reported to have a broken collar bone and five broken ribs.
Local police have been calling Brianna a hero and have attributed her with saving her father's life.
