Warden issues Clinton with a parking ticket

Clinton — widely expected to run for presidential office in 2016 — was issued a penalty notice for illegal parking while at an event in London.

A Westminster City Council warden issued the notice despite being surrounded by Clinton’s staff who had been seated in a vehicle beside the former first lady’s Mercedes.

Five of Clinton’s staff verbally remonstrated with the warden near Chatham House but he still put a ticket on the car which had transported Mrs Clinton to the event.

The photographer said one of the agents angrily waved his arms and produced his badge but the warden remained undeterred by their protests.

Neither Mrs Clinton’s spokesperson nor the US Embassy press office would comment on the incident.

The former secretary of state was in London to receive an accolade for her contribution to international diplomacy for her “significant and impressive contribution to international diplomacy” and “her work on behalf of gender equality and opportunities for women and girls”.
