Libyan envoys contact Paris

FRANCE’S foreign minister said yesterday that Paris has had contact with emissaries from Muammar Gaddafi who say the embattled Libyan is “prepared to leave”.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Bernard Valero stressed that the contacts with Libyans close to Gaddafi do not constitute negotiations. He refused to identify the Libyan emissaries other than to say they were close to Gaddafi.
