The actions, organised by Saudi youth, will take place in the oil-rich eastern province of Al-Hufu after Friday prayers.

Public protests are banned in the kingdom, and the police are authorised to take “all measures needed” against demonstrators.

Analysts in the energy sector warn that rumours of mass protests in the Kingdom may cause the biggest oil price hike yet.
