Death threats after woman throws puppies in river

A YOUNG woman has become the focus of death threats and hate messages after a video of her throwing several live puppies into a river was recently posted online.

Her identity is unknown, but some have suggested she may be from Bosnia.

The disturbing video shows the young, blonde woman smiling as she picks several puppies out of a dirty bucket and tosses them into a rapidly flowing river.

At one point, as the woman lobs a black-and-white pup into the water, she can clearly be heard saying, “whee”.

Online “investigators” have posted links to a YouTube page, as well as several Facebook profiles, naming people as being the girl or the person who filmed the video. It is unclear if those responsible have been found, however.

The video was originally featured on YouTube, but has since been pulled because of its content.

This video is only the latest bit of animal cruelty captured on tape to spark outrage online after a woman in England was similarly targeted for throwing a cat into a bin.

Mary Bale, who was caught earlier this month on video pushing a cat into a wheelie bin and closing the lid, became the focus of angry online messages and death threats. She has since apologised for her actions.

The latest video appears to show a young girl in a red hooded top picking up newborn puppies by the scruff of the neck and hurling them into a fast-flowing river.

Some comments claim to have identified the girl as being from the town of Bugojno in Central Bosnia, which has an estimated population of 50,000.

Calls to identify the teenage girl were led by 4Chan — an internet forum which claims to have been the first to identify Bale.

Bale, from the Stoke area of Coventry, has said she is “profoundly sorry” for her actions, describing the incident as “a split second of misjudgment”.

Lola the cat, who was trapped for 15 hours, emerged unscathed.
