Immigration law protests

TENS of thousands of protesters angered by a draconian Arizona immigration law took to the streets in cities across America, demanding immediate reforms from US President Barack Obama.

“I want to thank the governor of Arizona because she’s awakened a sleeping giant,” said union organiser John Delgado who attended a rally in New York where 6,500 gathered.

Police said 50,000 rallied in Los Angeles, where singer Gloria Estefan kicked off a massive downtown march.
