Yellow diamond necklace valued at £2m goes on display

A STUNNING yellow diamond necklace estimated to be worth up to £2 million (€2.20m) went on display in Britain yesterday, ahead of a New York sale.

The 100.17 carat diamond-encrusted accessory forms part of the Magnificent Jewels auction, due to take place at Sotheby’s in Manhattan next month.

Other highlights include a Burmese ruby ring and a collection of Kashmir sapphires, with both lots expected to fetch as much as £1 million.

In all, more than 100 items are due to go on sale in New York on April 20.

But before making their way across the Atlantic, the jewellery is being put on show at the auction house’s Bond Street galleries in London.
