FILMING continued as normal on I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! as deadly storms lashed the east coast of Australia.

Deadly storm fails to halt filming of I’m a Celebrity...

One man was swept to his death and more than 230,000 homes and businesses lost power yesterday along a 112-mile stretch of the Queensland coast.

Golf-ball-sized hailstones and torrential rain pounded the area and winds gusted up to 130kph.

Australia’s government declared Brisbane a natural disaster zone, and promised to make troops available to help with the clear-up.

A 20-year-old man was killed in the city when he was swept away after climbing into a storm drain to photograph the storm.

The celebrities in the camp — around 110 kilometres from Brisbane — escaped the worst of the storm, but still had to endure heavy rain in addition to all the other perils of the jungle.

A spokeswoman said: “The celebrities are feeling a bit glum about the weather, but it hasn’t affected filming.”

Assuming he avoided being struck down by monster hailstones, former EastEnders star Joe Swash was set to face a stomach-churning test last night when asked to eat witchetty grubs — white, wood-eating larvae of several moths — in the latest bushtucker trial.

The public voted for Swash to be pitted against page 3 model Nicola McLean in the grim task.

Bookmakers have tipped Swash as the 4/1 favourite to win the show, but 52-year-old Martina Navratilova, at 6/1, has so far proved more attractive to punters.
