Mother denies links with daughter’s death

THE mother of murdered teenager Natalie Pearman yesterday denied reports of a link between her daughter’s death and the murders of five prostitutes in Ipswich.

Mother denies links with daughter’s death

Reports suggested that 16-year-old Natalie’s body hair had been shaved off by her killer and that the body hair had also been shaved from the Suffolk victims.

But Lin Pearman, 60, said: “This is absolute nonsense. I have spoken to my police family liaison officer and neither of us knows anything about that. I am not aware of any body hair being shaved off Natalie.”

Detective Chief Superintendent Stewart Gull also rebuffed reports that the five Ispwich women had their body hair shaved off.

He said: “Clearly Tania’s body and Gemma’s body were found in fresh water so they had deteriorated and had lost some of their head hair as a result.”

Natalie was working as a prostitute in the red light district of Norwich when she went missing in 1992.

Her body was found in Ringland Hills beauty spot, a few kilometres outside the city several days later.

She had been strangled.

Ms Pearman said police had told her that if there was a link between Natalie’s death and the Suffolk murders they would be in touch.

She said the murders in Ipswich had brought the pain of losing her daughter 14 years ago flooding back.

“You never forget, but you learn to live with it,” Ms Pearman said. “The thought of your daughter being strangled, you hope it was quick and that she had been unconscious before she really felt too much.”
