Police in ETA seizure

SPANISH police seized explosives allegedly belonging to the armed Basque separatist group ETA following a search yesterday in the northern town of Hernani.

Police made the discovery during a raid prompted by the arrest of a three-member commando unit of ETA on March 25 as well as the detention of a woman last Friday, said an Interior Ministry spokeswoman who asked not to be named.

According to press reports, the explosives were found in a garage. The Interior Ministry said it would release further details later.
