Body found in hunt for boy’s killer

POLICE hunting the killer of a Scottish schoolboy yesterday discovered a body at a house they were searching in connection with his death.

The body of 11-year-old Rory Blackhall was discovered in woods near his school a week ago, prompting one of Lothian and Border’s biggest murder inquiries.

A police statement issued last night said: “During a search conducted today at an address in the Camps Rigg area of Livingston, Lothian and Borders Police can confirm that the body of an adult was recovered from the premises.

“A post-mortem and formal identification is expected to take place tomorrow.”

A spokesman confirmed that the recovery was made at the address where forensic officers were carrying out a search in relation to the Rory murder investigation.

The murder of Rory has shocked the close-knit West Lothian community of Livingston and left his parents devastated.

His mother Michelle, 41, dropped him off near his school last Thursday.

The alarm was raised later that day when his grand-father turned up at Meldrum Primary School to discover he never arrived.

A major search was launched around the area and three days later, Rory’s body was discovered under a tent. A post-mortem examination revealed he had been murdered.
