John Wayne commemorative stamp issued

JOHN Wayne’s contributions to film will be honoured during the unveiling of a commemorative stamp at his Iowa birthplace.

Wayne’s daughter, Melinda Wayne-Munoz, is scheduled to attend the US Postal Service ceremony on Saturday. The 37 cent stamp is the latest in the Legends of Hollywood series.

The John Wayne stamp is based on a black-and-white publicity still taken for the film The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.
