Napkin campaign for Yes vote

A NATIONWIDE napkin campaign has been launched in France to try to boost the fortunes of the beleaguered Yes campaign for a European constitution.

European Parliament funding is being used to paper university canteens across the country - 286 in all - with serviettes in the EU’s blue and gold colours.

If the referendum fails it will be a disaster for President Jacques Chirac. It will also give the European Commission an almighty headache because a No in any EU country sinks the constitution.
