Militants seize German in row over cartoons

ARMED militants angered by a cartoon drawing of the Prophet Mohammed published in European newspapers surrounded EU offices in Gaza yesterday.

They briefly kidnapped a German citizen as outrage over the caricatures spread across the Islamic world.

Palestinian police freed the German, an English teacher, after less than an hour.
