CHINESE doctors are facing an agonising choice in an operation to separate conjoined twin girls who share a heart and liver.

“We may have to make a choice between the two twins and give the heart to one child,” Dr Chen Qiming of the Shanghai Children’s Medical Centre said. “We want to keep them both.”

Doctors plan to operate on the girls, who were born on June 6, next month.
