A LIMERICK man who was stabbed 17 times after the murder of his uncle Kieran Keane has described it as “the worst night” of his life.

Owen Tracey, 31, appeared in the Central Criminal Court amid tight security yesterday as the chief witness against five Limerick men on trial for murder. He was flanked by two special branch detectives, wearing earpieces, who took up position on either side of the jury.

Mr Treacy, a Limerick breadman, identified the accused David “Frogs Eyes” Stanners as the man who shot Kieran Keane dead at Drombana, Limerick on January 29. He also said Stanners stabbed him 17 times, leaving him for dead.
