‘I’m angry at the way we’ve been treated’

AN Irishman who lost his 22-year-old son in the King’s Cross blast has hit out at the lack of support given to families.

“I’m so angry at the way we have been treated,” he said. “The compensation has been offered to some people but not to others. It is taking too long and there is no contact with government, no contact with police.”

Sean Cassidy, from Co Cavan , said it was the first time he had been to St Paul’s.

“I do not think my son would ever come along to something like this with politicians taking part,” he said.

Ciaran Cassidy, who lived in Finsbury Park, was one of the youngest of the 52 victims who died.

Marie Fatayi-Williams, who made a poignant plea to the bombers in the days after her son Anthony was killed in the bus bombing, also said she felt victims’ families were being overlooked. “Other mothers’ hearts must be bleeding like mine,” she said.
