Supporters of homeopathy celebrate founder’s birth
The German’s discovery, that taking quinine (which was used to treat malaria) produced symptoms similar to those of malaria, led to the development of homeopathy.
His approach came when medical practice relied heavily on blood-letting, purging and often toxic medicines.
John Saxton, President of the Faculty of Homeopathy, said: “He believed that factors in a person’s life, such as emotional influences, in addition to diet and environment, had a fundamental impact on their well-being.”
