Nanny costs on the rise

EMPLOYING a full-time daily nanny in London now costs an average of almost £27,000 (€39,000), a survey has revealed.

Once the payment of a nanny’s wages, tax and national insurance is taken into account, over £40,000 (€57,000) of the gross income of a London parent would be taken up by the service.

Professional childcarers in the city, on £26,937 (€38,766), earn more than the starting salary of most nurses, teachers and police officers.
