Boro wait on Pogatetz

MIDDLESBROUGH new boy Emanuel Pogatetz will not be available to play at Tottenham tomorrow, with his club admitting they are still awaiting confirmation of exactly how long he will be suspended.

The 22-year-old Austrian international, a £1.8m signing from Bayer Leverkusen, was handed a 24-week ban by the Russian FA for breaking Shinnik Yaroslavl midfielder Yaroslav Kharitonsky’s leg while on loan at Spartak Moscow.

Reports from Russia suggest that punishment has been significantly reduced on appeal.
