Britain may build new nuclear plants

TONY BLAIR appears set to give the go-ahead to a new generation of nuclear power stations in Britain.

Yesterday the British prime minister said he would do what he believed was right for the long-term future of the country, adding Britain faces “difficult and controversial decisions” on climate change and energy supply.

Mr Blair was speaking at his latest grilling by the British Commons Liaison Committee, made up of the chairmen of all its select committees.
