Chinese typhoon kills 15

RESCUE crews dug up seven of the 15 bodies buried in a landslide triggered by Typhoon Aere in Taiwan, as China reported that the storm caused heavy economic losses after ripping through some of the mainland’s wealthiest coastal provinces.

The death toll in Asia rose to 47 as the Philippines reported 12 more fatalities in northern provinces, where flooding forced thousands to flee their homes. Military helicopters rescued dozens from the rooftops of their homes in Tarlac province, disaster officials said.
