Twins for tubby tenor

LUCIANO Pavarotti’s girlfriend, who is half the 66-year-old Italian tenor’s age, is expecting twins.

His spokeswoman, Renata Meroni, said Nicoletta Mantovani is four months pregnant Pavarotti has three grown daughters by his former wife, Adua. The twins will be Mantovani’s first children. Asked if the couple planned to marry, Meroni replied that when Pavarotti was asked that question he quipped: “We always talked about getting married to have kids, and now it looks like it isn’t really necessary.”
