Spammer must pay damages

THE Paris Commercial Court has ordered a French entrepreneur to pay €22,000 in damages and interest for having sent out a flood of unsolicited e-mail messages, or spam, the US online service provider AOL said yesterday.

The court also said he would have to pay €1,000 for any spam message sent out following the ruling.
