“I love you and, no matter what, I’ll see you again”

MANY of the September 11 victims made emotional telephone calls to loved ones in the final minutes before they died. Here are some of their last words:

“I love you and, no matter what, I’ll see you again”

“Hey Jules, it’s Brian, I’m on a plane and it’s hijacked and it doesn’t look good. I just wanted to let you know that I love you and I hope to see you again. If I don’t, please have fun in life and live your life the best you can. Know that I love you and, no matter what, I’ll see you again.” - Brian Sweeney, United Airlines Flight 175, which crashed into the World Trade Centre North Tower, in a message to his wife.

“Sean, it’s me. I just wanted to tell you I love you. I’m stuck in this building in New York. A plane hit the building or a bomb went off, we don’t know, but there’s lots of smoke and I just wanted you to know that I love you. Bye bye.” - Melissa Hughes, who was in the World Trade Centre, in a message to her husband, who was asleep in their San Francisco home and had not heard the telephone ring.
