A TRAIN hit a minibus as it was trying to cross a rail line in Tajikistan, killing nine people and injuring 15.

The accident happened in Regar, 40 miles west of the capital, Dushanbe, said Mirjon Mudinov, an officer in the national highways department. He said three people, including the driver, were killed instantly and six others died later in a hospital. All the casualties were in the vehicle.
