Mother and baby girl found dead in home
A double murder probe was launched after the bodies of 23-year-old Louise L’Homme and daughter Tia Roberts were discovered in Parry Street, Tylerstown, Rhondda, south Wales, at around 5.45pm on Monday.
Two men, aged 20 and 21, were in custody yesterday on suspicion of murder but police are anxious to speak to Ms L’Homme’s partner Andrew Roberts. The 22-year-old has not been seen since early yesterday evening as he left Parry Street just before police arrived, a South Wales Police spokesman said. “Detectives believe Mr Roberts may have vital information about the murders and are also growing increasingly concerned for his welfare,” a statement added.
Police would not comment on how Ms L’Homme and her baby died. Post- mortems were due to be carried out last night .
Ms L’Homme also had a five-year-old daughter. The young girl was out with her grandmother when the murders happened.
At lunchtime police forensic teams and a specialist search unit entered the house were the bodies were found. The area around the scene has been cordoned off.
Police appealed for anyone who knew where Mr Roberts was to contact them. They also want to hear from anyone who had seen Ms L’Homme since Saturday.
Mr Roberts is white, slim, clean-shaven with straight, fair hair. He speaks with a Welsh accent.
The atmosphere in Parry Street yesterday was solemn and hushed, as residents stood silently on their doorsteps surveying the scene. A collection has begun to buy flowers in memory of the dead woman and her baby.
