Does Harrison Ford have Cork roots?

I wonder if your readers could help me trace the roots of Hollywood actor, Harrison Ford, best known for his roles as Han Solo and Indiana Jones.

Does Harrison Ford have Cork roots?

Harrison Ford was born in Chicago on Jul 13, 1942. He was the grandson of John Fitzgerald Ford, an Irish-Catholic émigré.

But I would love to know if anyone out there knows where in Ireland John Fitzgerald Ford hailed from?

The best guess we have had, so far, on our Wistorical page on Facebook, relates to a baptism for a John Forde recorded on Nov 21, 1863. His parents were Denis Forde and Jane Fitzgerald.

It was recorded in the parochial area of Douglas/Ballygarvan, Co. Cork.

John Fitzgerald Ford married a German lady, Florence Veronica Niehaus.

Their son, Christopher — Harrison’s father — was born in New York on Nov 20, 1906, and christened John William Ford.

All further clues are welcome.
