Kitching included, Coleman and Collins miss out as Hallgrimsson names Ireland squad for Nations League

Republic of Ireland boss Heimir Hallgrimsson has named a 26-man squad for the UEFA Nations League fixtures against Israel, Kosovo and Austria. 

Sheffield United defender Liam Kitching has received his maiden Ireland call-up, while Joel left-back Joel Bagan and young attackers Owen Elding (Hibernian) and Rocco Vata (Watford) will get their chance to impress Hallgrimsson in the hopes of seeing minutes.

There is no place in the squad for Seamus Coleman, without a club since his Everton departure, nor is there a place for Robbie Brady, while Nathan Collins misses out with a calf injury suffered on Brentford duty. 

Ireland travel to Kosovo next Thursday before taking on Israel in Debrecen, Hungary, the following Sunday. They then host Austria at the Aviva Stadium on October 1, before facing Israel again behind closed doors in Backa Topola, Serbia, on October 4.
