The FAI has confirmed that Ireland's Nations League game against Israel, which was initially scheduled for Dublin, will be played behind closed doors at the TSC Arena in Bačka Topola, Serbia on October 4.
The fixture has been the subject of widespread protests due to Israel's war in Gaza with opposition to it being played coming from inside and outside the game.
In a statement the FAI said: "This follows a decision taken by the FAI Board to move the fixture to a neutral territory due to operational challenges that could impact on the delivery of the game on home soil.
"The change of venue has been approved by UEFA and the game will be played in the TSC Arena in Bačka Topola behind-closed-doors, with the kick-off time to be confirmed in due course."
Ireland's other game against Israel in the Nations League group will be played at the Nagyerdei Stadion in Debrecen, Hungary, on September 27.
The FAI added: "As a result of the change of venue for the Israel fixture, the Association will update its 2026 FAI Season Ticket holders and Club Ireland members regarding compensation owed."
