Former Scotland striker Kenny Miller has been appointed Maccabi Tel Aviv head coach on a permanent basis.

The ex-Hibernian, Celtic and Rangers forward led Maccabi to Israel State Cup final success after stepping up to replace Ronny Deila in a caretaker role.

Miller said on Maccabi’s website: “From the moment I arrived at the club, I felt the passion, ambition and expectations that make Maccabi such a special place.”

The 46-year-old will be assisted by Stuart Taylor, who leaves his role as St Mirren assistant manager.

The Buddies said: “Stuart came to the club and informed us that this was an opportunity he wished to pursue. He now moves on, and the club thanks him for his contributions.

“The club is at an advanced stage of adding to our coaching staff and we will update supporters when this has been completed.”
