Airtricity League First Division: Kerry FC 2 Bray Wanderers 2

Shamrock Rovers loanee Matthew Britton scored a second-half brace to earn Kerry FC a point against ten-man Bray Wanderers in Mounthawk Park on Friday.

Daniel Ring and Kyle Tucker gave the Seagulls a well-deserved two-goal lead, but when Britton netted the first, Declan Osagie was shown a second yellow, allowing Kerry to push for the equaliser, which eventually came in additional time.

Bray Wanderers dominated the opening stages of the game and did find the net through Ring, but the goal was ruled out for a push by the striker. Moments later, Dean O’Shea headed back across the goal to find the head of the Shelbourne loanee Ring, who once again nodded the ball home and this time it stood.

The Seagulls looked very comfortable with the lead as Healy’s side caused them no problems.

Kerry made a change at halftime, bringing on Cian Brosnan for McGrath, but once again, Bray looked the better side, and the visitors doubled their lead just before the hour mark.

Kyle Tucker played a lovely one-two off of Ben McCormack, and upon receiving the return pass, smashed low and hard into the bottom corner.

Midway through the second half, momentum changed. Matthew Britton latched onto a breaking ball at the back post to smash home and give Kerry a lifeline they desperately needed, and in the medley of the celebrations, referee Declan Toland produced a second yellow card for full-back Declan Osagie, who had been booked just five minutes prior.

Kerry pushed on, and although Bray looked comfortable enough defending with ten, the pressure broke into the five minutes of additional time.

Once again, Britton found himself coming onto a breaking ball at the far post and rifled it in at the near post to secure his side a point and extend their unbeaten run at home to five games.
