An uneventful match between Cobh Ramblers and Longford Town ended as a scoreless draw on Friday evening at St. Colman’s Park.
Clear-cut chances were a rarity as the home side increased their unbeaten run in the league to four games, after recording three successive league wins in recent weeks.
The Ramblers did get forward when space allowed, with an early effort by Oran Crowe flashing just wide at the back post. Dylan McGlade also stepped up to take a free kick at the start of the second half, and the winger stung the palms of Kian Moore.
Longford Town held their own in response, but failed to get through a backline marshalled by Garry Buckley.
The Ramblers eventually went to their bench in an attempt to change things up, replacing their forward line with Kai O’Neill and Wilson Waweru coming on for Rhys Kelly Noonan and McGlade.
Still, nothing came together for either team despite the substitutes, even with four minutes added on.
