Ibrahima Konate believes Liverpool will rediscover success if they stay relaxed about this season’s struggles.
The Reds romped to the Premier League title last year in Arne Slot’s first season in charge, but this term has been a different story.
Liverpool have won only 14 of their 31 matches so far and trail leaders Arsenal by 21 points, with question marks raised about Slot’s position.
Konate has also come under fire for his form, but the 26-year-old believes their difficulties stem from multiple changes to the squad in the off-season.
He told ESPN FC: “Many things happened for us this season but what people have to understand is, before we won the league last season, we built a team to win the Premier League in one moment.
“Now we bring new players – of course they will not perform straight from the first game. We just have to be relaxed because this is part of the success.
“We will adapt, we will try to work and understand each other all together and, with time, we will win trophies, we will have success.”
Konate’s contract is due to expire at the end of this season, with no news yet on an extension, but the Frenchman spoke positively about the future.
“When we will win the league or the Champions League, people will forget every bad season we had,” he added.
“Two years (ago), we played Europa League, but people don’t talk about this any more.
“We have to be relaxed because we have amazing fans and we have to stay together and the success will come, for sure. Maybe this season or maybe in the future.”
