Leinster second-row RG Snyman has been ruled out for the rest of the season after rupturing the ACL in his right knee.

The province confirmed the news on Wednesday, with the South African double World Cup winner now set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Snyman suffered the injury - for the third time in his career - in the 38-17 defeat away to Glasgow earlier in March.

The 31-year-old previously suffered two ACL ruptures to his left knee, his first on his Munster debut in August 2020, and then shortly after his comeback in October 2021, meaning he only played 20 times for the province across four seasons.

The Springbok has had better luck injury-wise since his move to Leo Cullen's Leinster, playing 31 times since his summer 2024 cross-province move.

Meanwhile, Andrew Porter came through Friday night’s win over Scarlets with no issues and is available for selection in Sunday’s Champions Cup Round of 16 clash with Edinburgh Rugby at the Aviva Stadium.

James Ryan, Tadhg Furlong, Jimmy O’Brien and Garry Ringrose are all due to be further assessed with decisions on their availability to be made later in the week.
