The FAI will receive a guaranteed minimum of €9m in prize-money for World Cup qualification, the same largesse grossed for their last major tournament in 2016.

Fifa’s council have come under fire for the pricing structure of tickets at next summer’s finals in North America but were able to dish out favourable news in the form of a €620m prize-pot.
