Shelbourne will open their Uefa Conference league phase on Thursday, October 2 by hosting Swedish outfit BK Hacken, the same night Shamrock Rovers travel to take on Sparta Prague.
Each team were handed their six fixtures in Friday’s draw in Monaco, with both sharing Tallaght Stadium over the matchdays culminating a week before Christmas on December 18.
That Shelbourne’s glamour match against Crystal Palace is the penultimate game of the series on December 11 avoids any clash with the Lansdowne Road, should they choose to switch venue to the 51,000-seater national stadium, but turnout potential may depend on their qualification prospects by then.
Shelbourne’s itinerary entails hosting Palace at home, along with hosting Drita (Kosovo) and BK Hacken (Sweden). Their three away matches are in the Netherlands against Alkmaar, Celje (Slovenia) and Shkenija (Macedonia).
For Rovers, their third league phase in four years delivered matches against Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine), Celje (Slovenia) and Hamrun Spartans (Malta) at home, with trips to Sparta Prague (Czech Republic), AEK Athens (Greece) and Breidablik (Iceland).
A win in the league phase adds €400,000 for each victory, €133,000 for a draw and a guaranteed TV market share payment to be quantified later in the competition. Earnings for Rovers last year rocketed to €7.26m.
