Sitting there, bemused, I got the feeling that the only reason people who go to football matches don't chant racist things is because they are not allowed to. That is to say, they would if they could.

It must be quite a thing. 10,000 people on a sunny Sunday afternoon on the banks of the River Thames chanting your name, only for them to chant, over and over again, that you look like a rat.
