Heimir Hallgrímsson has apologised for causing any disrespect to the League of Ireland fraternity even if the Ireland manager didn’t intend to with his comments about domestic players emigrating.

“Hopefully they will get a career change from this success" – was the Icelander’s quote about Shamrock Rovers players in December which triggered Stephen Bradley into branding the Ireland manager as “out of touch”.
