Ireland international Caitlin Hayes signs for Brighton

DUE SOUTH: Caitlin Hayes has joined WSL outfit Brighton

Ireland WNT defender Caitlin Hayes has joined Brighton and Hove Albion, the club have announced.

The 29-year-old joins Albion after four and a half seasons with Celtic.

Hayes previously had spells at Manchester United, Manchester City and Everton at youth level. 

Women's head coach Dario Vidosic, said, “We're delighted to welcome Caitlin to the club. She's an experienced player who has competed at many levels in the game, including cup finals and the Champions League.

"She's progressed well in her time in Scotland and we're looking forward to seeing her compete in the WSL with Brighton.” 

During her time in Glasgow, the defender was part of the Celtic squad that won back-to-back Scottish Cups and the club's first SWPL league title.

At international level she made her Republic of Ireland debut aged 28 against Northern Ireland and has been capped 18 times.
