Eva Mangan could be on the way to Women's Super League side Liverpool after a successful trial with the Merseyside giants.

The Ballygarvan native has been the subject of much transfer speculation this summer — the midfielder trained with Lewes for a brief period.

Mangan was not in the Cork City team that played Athlone Town last Saturday in the Women's Premier Division as she had just come home from a week long trial in Liverpool.

The two clubs are now talking about a possible transfer ahead of the WSL deadline on Friday, September 13th.

This follows Mangan being called up to the Republic of Ireland WNT for Euro qualifiers against Sweden, England, and France last summer.

The midfielder trained alongside Cork natives Denise O'Sullivan and Megan Connolly but didn't feature for the Girls in Green.

Mangan started out with Carrigaline United, and her performances in the CWSSL led to a move to Cork City.

The midfielder stepped up to the first team in 2021 and that was followed by a run that saw her score five goals in 28 appearances in 2022.

Mangan was made club captain the following year, and she helped the group qualify for the semi-finals of the Avenir Sports All-Island Cup.

This year, Mangan has captained the side to victories over Peamount United and Shamrock Rovers. City are also into the semi-finals of the Women's FAI Cup for the first time since 2020.
