Heimir Hallgrimsson succeeded in perfecting that perilous art of co-management and there’ll be a similar sense when he unveils his first squad as Ireland boss on Thursday.
Whereas the Iceland team that famously beat England at Euro 2016 had Hallgrimsson flanking Lars Lagerbäck as an official double-act, his combo with John O’Shea for facing the same nation isn’t officially anointed in that guise.
