Chelsea forward Noni Madueke blitzed Wolverhampton Wanderers with a second-half hat-trick to silence the boo boys.
The Barnet-born attacker, 22, netted his first senior treble inside 15 minutes after he called Wolverhampton a “s***hole” on social media before deleting the comment. He was booed whenever he touched the ball by home supporters.
Cole Palmer scored one and claimed three assists in a classy performance.
In a breathless first half, Nicolas Jackson after two minutes and then Palmer on 45 gave Chelsea the lead but Wolves pegged them back through Matheus Cunha on 27 then Jorgen Strand Larsen in the sixth minute of time added on at the end of the half.
Madueke put Chelsea back in front in 49th minute then made it a treble shortly after the hour mark to gain revenge for Wolves’ 4-2 win at Stamford Bridge.
Substitute Joao Felix grabbed the Blues’ sixth in the 80th minute.
Madueke had the perfect early response to the loud boos as his low, angled shot shovelled behind by goalkeeper Jose Sa paved the way for the opening goal.
Jackson planted an unmarked far post header after Cunha – who scored a hat-trick the last time the sides met in Wolves’ 4-2 win at Stamford Bridge last season – unwittingly flicked on Palmer’s corner.
Wolves had their chances but Yerson Mosquera’s header bulleted just wide then Cunha swept home from Strand Larsen’s cut back but the latter was offside.
As the game pinged from end to end, Sa palmed away after Madueke cut inside and shot.
Wolves got the equaliser they had been threatening in the 27th minute.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde won the ball on the halfway line and Rayan Ait-Nouri sped forwards.
Brilliant footwork from the Algerian saw him brilliantly beat Enzo Fernandez before squaring to Cunha to his left to finish.
A delightful move almost gave Wolves the lead. Mario Lemina skipped past a couple of Chelsea challenges and Matt Doherty crossed for Cunha, whose shot was deflected onto the top of the bar.
Palmer restored Chelsea’s lead with a stylish lob after Jackson flicked the ball to the England forward as Mosquera failed to get there in time following Robert Sanchez’s long goal kick.
Wolves levelled for a second time through Strand Larsen.
The giant Norwegian stretched to volley past Sanchez after Toti headed Ait-Nouri’s free kick across goal.
Chelsea put the game out of sight in 14 dazzling second-half minutes.
From a quickly-taken free kick on halfway, Jackson worked the ball to Palmer and Madueke’s shot deflected off Ait-Nouri and wrongfooted Sa.
Madueke grabbed his second and Chelsea’s fourth in the 58th minute, beating Sa at his near post from another Palmer assist.
It was all too easy for Chelsea, who created an overload on Wolves’ left again for their fifth goal as Madueke completed his hat-trick in the 63rd minute.
Fernandez robbed Gomes, Jackson found Palmer, who again threaded through the Barnet-born youngster again to slot past Sa.
Pedro Neto, who joined Chelsea from Wolves for 60 million euros, crossed for fellow substitute Joao Felix to make it 6-2, sidefooting home powerfully.
