Damien Duff insists it was pointless appealing Sean Gannon’s three-match ban to “global giant” Uefa.

The veteran defender was sent off in the closing stages of Shelbourne’s win over Gibraltarian side St Joseph’s a fortnight ago following a sideline shemozzle.
