Manchester United are close to signing highly-rated French defender Leny Yoro in a deal worth up to 70 million euros (£59million), the PA news agency understands.
The 18-year-old Lille player, who was also linked with a move to European champions Real Madrid, travelled to the UK on Wednesday to undergo a medical with the Premier League club.
It is understood United will pay 62.8m euros (£52.7m) as a fixed fee with add-ons worth a further eight million euros (£6.7m) in total.
Yoro, who has been feted as one of the best young players in Europe, would become the second signing of the summer for United, following Joshua Zirkzee's arrival from Bologna which was confirmed last weekend.
Meanwhile, striker Mason Greenwood is poised to leave United and join Marseille, with the clubs having reached an agreement in principle over a 31.6 million euro (£26.5m) transfer.
The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Spanish side Getafe.
Greenwood was suspended by United on January 30, 2022 over allegations relating to a young woman after images and videos were posted online.
He faced charges including attempted rape and assault but the Crown Prosecution Service announced in February last year that the case had been discontinued.
New arrival Zirkzee will add to United's attacking options, and in his first interview since completing his move, the 23-year-old told MUTV: "It's been a rollercoaster of a few weeks with good experiences. Happy to be here.
"Obviously I'm at a good point in my career. Making a transfer to United is positive. I can't wait to get started and continue what I did last season and do the best I can."
In other transfer news, Ipswich have signed goalkeeper Arijanet Muric on a four-year deal from Burnley for an undisclosed fee.
The Swiss-born Kosovo international made 55 appearances for Burnley during his two seasons at the club, helping the Clarets win promotion in 2022-23 before featuring 10 times last season as they were relegated from the Premier League.
The Manchester City academy graduate, 25, joins Kieran McKenna's newly-promoted Ipswich for their first top-flight season since 2002 following their runners-up finish in the Sky Bet Championship.
"I'm excited to have joined the club and am looking forward to getting started," Muric told TownTV.
"I watched how the team played last season and feel the style will suit me very well, so this is the perfect move for me.
Muric is Ipswich's fifth signing of the summer so far, following Omari Hutchinson, Liam Delap, Ben Johnson and Jacob Greaves in switching to Portman Road.
Ipswich start their Premier League campaign at home to Liverpool on August 17.
Burnley were active themselves on Wednesday, signing 22-year-old Benin striker Andreas Hountondji on a four-year deal from French club Caen for an undisclosed fee.

England defender Lucy Bronze has signed for Women's Super League champions Chelsea on a two-year deal.
The 32-year-old won seven trophies including two Champions League titles during a two-year stint with Barcelona but elected against extending her contract which expired last month.
Instead, the former Manchester City and Liverpool full-back will move back to England, signing for the Blues, who have won the past five editions of the WSL.
"To know I'm a Chelsea player still feels a little bit surreal," Bronze said. "It's obviously a club I know so much about and have done for such a long time.
"I'm really excited to be back in England. My family are so excited as well to get to more of my games.
"I'm excited to be in London, to see what the capital holds and to be at a club that is renowned for winning so many trophies."
Bronze, who has been capped 125 times by her country and helped them to glory at Euro 2022, won the WSL title with Liverpool in 2013 and 2014 and with City in 2016.
She left City in 2017 before returning three years later after a stint with Lyon, where she won three consecutive Champions League titles.
Bronze then headed to Barcelona in 2022, playing 70 times in all competitions and scoring five goals.
Chelsea's general manager Paul Green said: "Lucy will bring leadership to the group. She is a serial winner and a versatile defender.
"She has lots of experience and a winning mentality which we feel will fit well into the squad."
