Student kills 6 and wounds others in a shooting at a high school in Thailand, authorities say

A student shot several people at a high school outside Bangkok on Friday, killing three teachers and three students and wounding several others, police said.
The shooting happened at the Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Nonthaburi province northwest of the national capital, Royal Thai Police spokesperson Trairong Piwpan told
In a later interview with news broadcaster Channel 3, Trairong said three teachers and three students were killed, while the shooter was being hospitalised in serious condition. He said 15 others were injured, with two in critical condition.
He said the motive was still being investigated. He said the gun was believed to have been taken from a member of the student’s family.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul offered his condolences and said he had ordered relevant officials to take care of the victims.
In photos circulated by emergency workers, students streamed out of the Debsirin Nonthaburi School, on the northwestern outskirts of Bangkok, as ambulances operated. In one photo, one person is seen lying down on a stretcher outside an ambulance, while another is attended to by a medic.
In the 2025 academic year, the school had an enrollment of around 3,100 students and 147 teachers, according to district authorities.
In February, a teacher died, and a student was injured in southern Thailand's Hat Yai district after a gunman opened fire at a school.
