'Danke Jurgen' - Liverpool ensure Klopp era ends with emotional Anfield win

There was barely a dry eye in the house as Jurgen Klopp said farewell to Anfield.
The words "Danke Jurgen" - spelt out on the seats of the lower deck of the Anfield Road and Sir Kenny Dalglish stands - greeted Klopp as he emerged from the tunnel to take charge of his 491st and final game as Liverpool manager.
And goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Jarell Quansah gave the German the perfect end to his momentous nine and half year spell as Liverpool manager on a glorious sun-kissed afternoon on Merseyside.
The statistics will show he will leave Liverpool with a record of of 299 wins 109 draws and only 83 defeats plus eight trophies.
But Klopp means so much more to Liverpool fans with the way he has connected with them and re-energised the club.

And how they showed it throughout a one-sided game, waving their banners and signing their songs before producing thunderous applause at the final whistle.
Klopp, wearing his traditional baseball cap and dressed all in black, looked to have a tear in his eye as he listened to the crowd sing the club's anthem "You'll Never Walk Alone" for the last time before kick off.
Then it down to business and one-way traffic from the kick-off with Liverpool determined to give the German his winning farewell.
But it wasn't until Nelson Semedo was red carded in the 30th minute for a reckless challenge on Alexi MacAllister that they were able to turn their dominance into goals.
The dismissal was a non-brainer for referee Chris Kavanagh after he had been advised by the VAR to review the incident on the pitch-side monitor.
Mac Allister was able to continue after lengthy treatment and within four minutes he gave Liverpool the lead with a glancing header from Harvey Elliott's cross.

Jarell Quansah netted his second goal in a week to give Liverpool their second after 40 minutes.
After his towering header at Villa Park, this was a much simpler effort for the young defender who poked the ball over the line after Mo Salah's shot had taken a deflection of Santiago Bueno.
Liverpool should have added to their tally in the second half with Wolves keeper Jose Sa denying Mo salah on a number of occasions saving and Luis Diaz spurning an open gal when his close range effort struck the underside of the bar after Gakpo had rounded Sa.
Despite being a man down, Wolves put a spirited fight and shojuld have pulled one back when Matheus Cunha saw his shot blocked by Virgil van Dijk with Alisson stranded out of his goal.
But it really didn't matter because the day was all about one man - and the Anfield crowd showed their appreciation as only they can.
