We’d heard it the whole week, just non-stop reminders. You went to the garage to fill up your car, to the shop for a newspaper, to the supermarket and someone would say: “We don’t want Man United to win the league. We’re Blackburn fans this weekend.” 

And there were no smiles when they said it, either.
